Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. Both LeAnnekymes and Krauss were among the youngest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23 1971) is an American bluegrass country singer and musician. She started in the industry in her early years, as she was a mere 10 years old. In 1985, she enrolled with Rounder Records and in 1987 she released her first solo album. She was asked to join Alison Krauss & Union Station with whom she performs.
